QUALIFYING CRITERIA
Taranaki Year 11, 12 or 13 secondary students, or anyone wishing to further their education or start a new career.
Entrants must be New Zealand citizens or have permanent resident status.
Entrants must be intending to further their education in a recognised course offered by a university, polytechnic, technical institute, wananga, private training establishment or approved training programme.
The $1,000 can be used to fund post secondary education either in paying course fees or course-related costs or costs associated with apprenticeships
To apply prepare a personalized Career Plan divided into the following four sections:
An assessment of your career direction. (Based on your personal qualities, skills, values, interests and how they relate to your job choice which must be stated).
Research a career that matches your assessed career direction. (Include qualifications and training required tasks, duties and skills for that career).
Design a career plan taking you from the present to the completion of your training indicating where your $1,000 will be used. Give the dates for each step in your plan.
A list of resources used to gather information including an outline of your visit to the Taranaki Careers and Training Expo in August

Depth of research

Check list:
Your name, address, contact phone number, school must be clearly printed on the entry. The career plan project can be presented in any medium. Your Scholarship Application becomes the property of the Taranaki Careers Training Expo Trust Committee and is not returnable.
