Tranzqual Industry Training Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to promote the uptake of training specifically relevant to the transport and logistics industry up to Diploma level on the National Qualifications Framework (ie at sub-degree level).
The scholarship is designed for potential future leaders who have entered the logistics and transport industry who do not hold any formal industry specific academic qualifications.
The Scholarship
  • The scholarship has a value of $2,000.00 and this money must be utilised to meet course costs and/or costs for reference books and education aids.
  • Applicants who select a qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework by the New Zealand Road Transport and Logistics ITO will also be eligible to receive the standard subsidies applicable to such qualifications.
  • Free membership of CILT for one year.
The CILT Awards Committee will review applications and determine the successful applicant. In reaching their decision the panel is to take into account:
  • The recommendations of the employer and level of support offered by the employer.
  • The reasons put forward by the applicant in selecting the desired qualification.
  • The explanation provided by the applicant as to the benefits the achievement of the qualification will bring to their employer.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA

Applicants must:

  • Be recommended by their employer on the basis of their current performance, the relevance of the selected qualification to the business, the applicant's potential for professional advancement. The employer must also indicate a willingness to contribute to the achievement of the qualification financially and/or by providing some work time to attend formal training.
  • Propose the qualification they wish to achieve and indicate likely costs.
  • Explain the reason for their choice of qualification and how they propose to utilise the knowledge gained to further enhance the business position of their employer.
  • The award will be in the form of a certificate of entitlement for the reimbursement of costs together with a plaque, and one year's free membership of CILT.
