Priscilla Sandys Wunsch Scholarships

This Scholarship Trust was established in 2000 when Miss Priscilla Sandys Wunsch, a Bachelor of Arts graduate (1946) from the University of Otago, left $3 million to endow scholarships to the University of Otago for Taranaki students who would otherwise not be able to afford a tertiary education. The scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to Taranaki school leavers enrolling in any degree course at the University of Otago. The scholarships are awarded on a year to year basis for up to three years of study. Each scholarship is intended to provide the level of assistance considered by the Trustees as appropriate for the individual student.

The number of new scholarships available each year depends on the Trust's annual income less the value of the scholarships awarded to continuing recipients. Continuing financial support is conditional on examination success.
